Where to find your outfit for your newborn's photoshoot (in no particular order):
On a time crunch? You can totally find great options on Amazon, your own closet, and your local boutiques.
1. A flattering and so-soft robe!
Like the one below. The great thing about this Robe is everything, you'll find yourself reaching for it everyday. Check them out here!
2. A comfy sweater and leggings or jeans
3. Wrapped V-neck dresses
I feel like wrapped dresses are great for postpartum moms and usually are very flattering. Plus, easy for nursing mamas too. Always choose a color and design that looks great on you!
REAL LIFE EXAMPLES
Below you will find some stunning mamas (I added a couple of dads, too!) who chose perfect-for-them postpartum outfits. Every mama is different, and every postpartum journey is different. Personally, I gained about fifty pounds during my first pregnancy and could not fit clothing that I was fitting pre-pregnancy.
In the meantime, I leaned on flowy dresses to get me through that post-partum weight loss. Why? Because I love dresses! And also, because I had a June baby and being hot and heavy was not so fun in jeans. Anywho, I hope the message you receive from this little note is that: for your newborn's photoshoot, you should feel good in whatever you choose to wear.

TIPS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
1. Keep it light. For in-home, newborn & family photography, I recommend keeping clothing lighter in color - keep it light in terms of feel too. You do not want anyone looking (or feeling) stiff and uncomfortable.
2. Casual clothing can work great, but please make sure you pay attention to the details. Crispy, clean shirts that are wrinkle-free are a must. (If you don't know where your steamer is, no problem, toss it in the dryer with a clean wet cloth of the same or similar color or hang it in the bathroom while you shower). If you are coming to the studio - no worries! I have a steamer to use.
PRO TIP: WAIT TO DRESS CHILDREN UNTIL MOMENTS BEFORE THEIR PHOTOS
3. Formal is great, too. Some families are formal in their everyday attire, so if this fits your style, then by all means, go formal. Keep in mind that it needs to "breathe" as you will be snuggling your baby.
4. If you don't wear shoes around your home, I would suggest going without them for your in-home session.
